now there's something you don't see every day! Love the way you have backlit it against that clear blue sky.

Great idea to hold it up against the sky and take a shot.
Have a nice weekend. :)

Did you put the cocoon back? The reason I ask is that what is inside is usually able to get out and eat from the host plant.

I don't think I have ever seen a cocoon on SWF before so this is a pleasant surprise and gives me some ideas. Nice shot.

Great photo of the sky showcasing a cocoon inside a seed pod. Very clever. It looks like a moth cocoon. It will fly off when it emerges. The caterpillar has already eaten what it wants of the plant it was on.

Great job.

Thanks for the visit,
Troy

I wonder what kind of cocoon it is? Was it okay after you held it up like that?

Great idea for skywatch!

Hi Digital Polaroids,

Is this a butterfly cocoon or a silkworm cocoon? It's heart shaped, is somebody's heart inside a cocoon trying to heal itself before getting out into the world?

It looks silk to me, although I could be wrong. But one thing is sure, those fingernails were cut too close to the skin. :-) --Durano, done!
