This sounds weird, but I'm writing a book, and I need to make it as real as possible. So, if people are stuck in an elevator during a blackout, does the emergency button still work on a separate power generator like hospitals? Or, just tough luck?
Now, if a fire also breaks out during that period of time because of a candle, does that change anything?

could be the really switch behind emergency switch button (there might even be a recall relating to the problem with pontaic)amy also be the function switch.
